Aurangabad police arrest three for accepting online bets

AURANGABAD: The crime branch of Aurangabad city police has arrested three people and claimed to have bust an online cricket betting racket having connections to different cities, including Nashik.


Arrested suspects have been identified as

Syed Riyaz

(38), Tabrez Khan (30) and

Shaikh Mujahid

(30).

The raid was carried out on late Sunday night by crime branch inspector

Manoj Shinde

at a location in the limits of Jinsi police station. The team seized articles and some cash totalling over Rs 75,000. Inspector

Avinash Aghav

said the suspects had got themselves registered on a betting website through a person from Nashik and were accepting bets from the local gamblers.
