AURANGABAD: A 27-year old man died in custody of

Nanalpeth police station

in Parbhani district, about 186 kms from here on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Shamsher Khan Pathan.

Parbhani superintendent of police Niyati Thakar told TOI, "The 27-year old hails from Shrirampur of Ahmednagar district and was in the custody of Nanalpeth police station.

The accused complained about dizziness on Sunday night and was taken to government hospital, where he was declared brought dead."

The officer said that Prima facie it appears that he died of cardiac arrest but the inquest report is awaited. She said that a CID inquiry into his death and a simultaneous judicial probe by the district collector would be conducted into his death.
