11 from Sambhajinagar complete Comrade Marathon in S. Africa

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A total of 11 participants, including a 62-year-old, from the city completed the Comrade Marathon held in South Africa.Tushar Pradhan completed the run in 9 hours, 56 minutes and 32 seconds while Satish Yadav completed it in 10:32:25 and Nitin Ghorpade took 10:57:47 to complete the race. Waman Gorkhshnath took 11:19:56, Uday Deshpande took 11:28:11, Kishor Desle took 11:32:14, Bhagwan Magar took 11:32:34, Vinay Agarwal took 11:33:39 and Bhau Gawali took 11:36:15 to finish the race. Sixty-two-year-old Balaji Naragude, an entrepreneur, finished the run in 11 hours, 36 minutes and 15 seconds. Pradhan received the Robert Mtshali medal for finishing the run inside 10 hours, while Ghorpade and Yadav bagged the bronze medal for completing it inside 11 hours. Other runners walked away with the Vic Clapham medal. Hailed as the world’s largest and oldest ultramarathon race, the Comrade Marathon is held annually in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The 90 km race, which invites participants from all over the world, has to be completed in 11 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.
