Bathinda woman who left kids for online love in Pakistan now praises Pak army in viral videos
AMRITSAR : A former Indian woman who left her children behind to marry a man she met online in Pakistan has resurfaced in viral videos praising the Pakistan army and ridiculing Indian defence efforts.Tina Sharma, from Bathinda in Punjab originally, now goes by the name Aiyshaafter converting to Islam and settling in Pakistan. Her transformation — from a mother of two in India to a self-styled moral commentator across the border — has sparked outrage online. In a widely shared 21-second clip, Aiysha is seen declaring her loyalty to Pakistan.“I am Indian, now present in Pakistan. India did wrong by attacking Pakistan; it is wrong, and Pakistan will respond appropriately. Inshallah, I support the Pakistan army and people and will remain Pakistani until my last breath,” she says before ending the video with the slogan: “Narae-Takbir, Allahu Akbar.”Aiysha's journey began in 2015 when she met Muhammad Suleman while playing an online game. Their digital friendship blossomed into a long-distance romance. In Oct 2018, she travelled to Pakistan, leaving her Indian family — including two children — behind. She married Suleman just five days after arriving and converted to Islam subsequently. The couple now have two children together, a daughter named Aiza and a son, Zayan.
In a second video now circulating on social media, Aiysha claims familiarity with life in India and mocks the country’s defence spending. Referring to drones as “toys,” she urges India to spend money on sanitation infrastructure instead. “You should be building toilets, not wasting money on toys,” she says, adding that the Pakistan army will destroy Indian military equipment. Her comments have provoked backlash, particularly for her apparent lack of remorse over abandoning her children and for delivering lectures on Indian governance and military decisions.Aiysha's story has long captured the public’s imagination in Punjab. Her cross-border romance even inspired a popular local song: Ladki Bathinda Ki Jawan Gayi Re, India Mein Bolae Sadi Jaan Gayee Ray (‘The girl from Bathinda went away, in India we said our life was taken’). Now a vlogger in Pakistan, Aiysha continues to stir controversy with her online content, often presenting herself as a moral authority on issues in her former homeland.
