Amritsar: A woman kidnapped a five-day-old newborn boy after luring his mother with financial help from the government for education and insurance of the child.
Daljit Kaur, resident of Jathore village near Attari, gave birth to the boy about five days ago and was still recovering in the hospital
A woman, claiming to be a representative of a government department, would often meet her and asked her to fill a form for getting financial help for education and insurance of the boy, an offer which Daljit couldn’t resist. “The jeans-clad women, whose head was covered with a black cloth, came to me today and asked for clicking a photograph of my child outside the hospital. My mother took my son along with her where an unidentified woman took the child for clicking the photograph, but dodged my mother and fled on a motorcycle with someone,” said Daljit.
Another woman, Suman, who had given birth to a girl child, informed that she was also lured with financial help for her newborn. “My mother-in-law also took my daughter outside the hospital but I was lucky, as the woman kidnapper made away with Daljit’s son,” she said.
