Two gangsters held by Amritsar police

AMRITSAR: Amritsar police have arrested two gangsters and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

While talking to media persons Amritsar police commissioner

SS Sriwastwa

informed that police had arrested Harmanjit singh, resident of village

Jaura

and Jobanpreet Singh, resident of Nawan Pind.

Police recovered one 12 bore rifle, one pistol, 30 live cartridges, one Ford car and a motorcycle from their possession.

He informed that gangsters

Jagroshan Singh

and Sunny Kumar who were lodged in Amritsar jail had a brawl in the jail on March 13.

Jagroshan felt insulted after the scuffle with Sunny and asked his accomplice to teach a lesson to the family of Sunny Kumar following which a group of around nine to ten gangsters opened fire outside the residence of Sunny Kumar.

He informed that a case under various sections of IPC had been registered against both of them.
