AMRITSAR: Cabinet minister
Navjot Singh Sidhu had a close brush with a stray bull during his Durgiana Temple visit on Wednesday.
According to an eyewitness Deepak Bhandari who had accompanied Navjot Singh Sidhu, “When we came out of the briefing room of Durgiana Temple,
Sidhu was wearing shoes and then suddenly from nowhere a stray bull came towards us leaving everyone terrified." He added that Sidhu’s security personnel immediately frisked him away to safety.
Though Navjot Singh Sidhu escaped unhurt, as many as three journalists sustained minor injuries in the bull adventure.
The incident has exposed the negligence of Amritsar Municipal Corporation’s failure to keep the roads free from the menace of stray animals.
A local resident of Durgiana Abadi Sanjay Kapoor said that this was not the first time that a stray bull had terrified the people but it was a routine matter.
“You (media ) people are writing because a cabinet minister and a celebrity is involved else no one even writes such news,” he said.
