(SSM) has declared 12 more candidates, taking total numbers of nominations announced by it to 100. In addition, Gurnam Singh Charuni-led Sanyukt Sangharsh Party (SSP) has announced its 10 candidates in alliance with

SSM

.

The SSM has stated that the remaining seven candidates will also be announced soon. The Morcha has regretted that more women candidates have not come forward and urged them to come to fore to participate in electoral politics.

Singh Bhangu

said, “We again met Punjab chief electoral officer on Thursday and reminded him to expedite the process of allotting common symbol to SSM candidates. The CEO assured us that he is forwarding the request immediately to EC.”

He also said that the election offices of SSM and its candidates were being opened across Punjab and door-to-door campaigning was in full swing.
