BATHINDA: Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has expressed surprise over the statement of
Union
agriculture minister
Narendra Tomar in wherein he has said that the government was awaiting names from the
SKM
for setting up a committee on MSP.
SKM asked the Union government about reply it had sent on March 24, which was sent again on March 30. SKM said it once again wanted to put these facts in front of the public.
SKM coordination committee member
Yudhveer Singh
had received a call from then agriculture secretary
Sanjay Agarwal, on March 22 inviting two to three names from the SKM for the committee constituted by the Centre.
However, it was not clear from this oral message that who else would be included in this committee, what would be its mandate and tenure and how it would work. SKM in an email to Aggarwal on March 24 had requested these clarifications.
