Punjab: Army man accused of killing daughter, just 10 months old in Muktsar

An Army jawan and both his parents have been booked for allegedly killing his 10-month-old daughter. Police said Army jawan Satnam Singh of Ranjitgarh village in Muktsar district did not having cordial relations with wife Amandeep Kaur, and committed the crime in a fit of rage on Monday evening.

BATHINDA: An Army jawan and both his parents have been booked for allegedly killing his 10-month-old daughter. Police said Army jawan Satnam Singh of Ranjitgarh village in Muktsar district did not having cordial relations with wife Amandeep Kaur, and committed the crime in a fit of rage on Monday evening.
Satnam is at large while his father Sukhchain Singh has been taken into custody.

The Army man, who was posted at Ambala Cantonment, had married Amandeep Kaur of Lakheke Behram village nearly two years ago. Some time after the marriage, the relations started turning sour. When pregnant, Kaur had returned to her parents' house.
Satnam had filed for divorce, while Amandeep had filed a complaint with Army authorities. The authorities called both to Ambala and after some days she delivered a baby.
Again on July 12, the Army authorities summoned both and directed them to stay together for 20 days. Satnam had taken Amandeep to Ranjitgarh but their dispute continued.
Police sources said on Monday evening Satnam, in a fit of rage, along with his father and mother threw the infant to floor. She was taken to hospital in a serious condition where she was declared dead.
Muktsar Sadar police station SHO Jagsir Singh said that acting on the complaint of Amandeep's father Jaswinder Singh, a case under charges of murder has been registered against Satnam, his father Sukhchain and mother Swarn Kaur.
