Kejriwal's two rallies in Punjab may charge the political atmosphere

AMRITSAR: To counter the relentless stream of allegations from opposing political parties and aiming to garner support from Punjab voters for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the AAP's supremo Arvind Kejriwal is slated to conduct two rallies scheduled to be held in the Malwa and Majha regions of Punjab on February 10 and 11.
Senior party sources here informed that AAP’ Punjab team had already initiated grassroots efforts in preparation for Arvind Kejriwal's upcoming rallies.
“Party supremo will not only appeal to Punjab voters ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to vote for AAP candidates but the senior party leadership was also considering additional announcements for public welfare aiming to woo the voters and the Punjab team is receiving support from the AAP's Delhi team “ said sources .
“One rally each will be held in Fatehgarh Sahib in Malwa and at Khadur Sahib in Majha region of Punjab on February 10 and 11” informed party sources.
Strangely, the party leaders here refused to come on record about the scheduled rallies of Kejriwal in Punjab for the reasons best known to them.
There are indications that certain leaders from various political factions, such as the BJP, Congress, and SAD, may align themselves with the AAP in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal which could add an interesting dimension.
Notably, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has already announced the party’s intentions to independently contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and has even expressed confidence in securing victory across all constituencies.
Arvind Kejriwal's rallies in Punjab coincide with the ongoing Punjab Bachao Yatra (PBY) initiated by the SAD which began on February 1.
It will be interesting to see the heightened political dynamics and the intensified narratives exchanged between the AAP and SAD that had been explicitly laying blame on the AAP government for causing irreparable damage to Punjab and could charge the political atmosphere.
