During the shifting, an inmate

Gourav Sharma

hurled abuses at a jail official and manhandled him. According to sources, Gourav, who was kept at the high security zone along with other hardcore criminals, wanted to come out during the shifting process of other inmates.

When the officer on duty tried to stop Gourav, he threatened him. However, the police personnel locked Gourav inside. He has been booked for assaulting a public servant on duty and

criminal intimidation.



Nawab was being shifted on the orders senior jail officials in anticipation of a clash between two groups. Sub-inspector Manjinder Singh, the investigation officer (IO) in the case, said, “An FIR has been lodged against the accused while a detailed investigation is underway to avoid any such incident in the future.”
