AMRITSAR: Gangster Jarnail Singh, a resident of Sathiala village in Amritsar, was allegedly shot dead by four masked assailants on Wednesday. The brazen attack also left one person injured.
The incident, which was captured on a CCTV camera, revealed that the attackers fired multiple rounds at Jarnail Singh. According to police sources, around two dozen shots were fired during the deadly assault.
Jarnail Singh, who was currently on bail, was known to be associated with the Gopi Ghanshampuria gang, and the police suspect the involvement of a rival gang in his elimination.
Jarnail was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police took the possession of the body and sent it for autopsy.
Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Harkrishan Singh, said that the assailants arrived in a Maruti Swift car.
