BATHINDA: Punjab governor Banwari Lal Purohit addressed border area residents during his visit to Fazilka on Wednesday, urging them to report any drug-related activities to the police.
He said that drug addiction is not confined to Punjab now but is spreading fast to Haryana and other states.
He emphasized the need to tackle drug addiction and peddling, expanding the issue beyond Punjab's borders. Purohit praised the police's efforts and encouraged village-level committees to contribute by identifying the enemy involved in drug abuse.
He expressed concerns about Pakistan's involvement in smuggling narcotics as a means to weaken India. Purohit also highlighted the widespread drug abuse problem, extending even to schools, in Punjab. He stressed the importance of India becoming a global leader through hard work and honesty and noted Punjab's contributions to the nation's self-reliance in food production.
