Councillor’s murder: FB post by gangsters raises questions
AMRITSAR
: Giving a twist to the assassination of Congress’s municipal councillor (MC) from ward number 50Gurdeep Pehalwan
, a Facebook post presumably uploaded by gangsters from account of Sangam Malhotra not only took responsibility of killing of the politican but also denied having taken any supari (contract money). The post also claimed that Gurdeep was killed to take revenge of the killing of one of their accomplice Sangam Malhotra.Saif Ali Khan Health Update
The post tagged Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Bobby Malhotra, Saraj Sandhu and Sangam Malhotra. Earlier, it was being rumoured that Bhagwanpuria had taken a supari of Rs 15 lakh to eliminate the MC.
Police have not arrested anyone so far involved in killing of Gurdeep despite naming eight people in FIR, including Bhagwanpuria.
A first time MC from from ward number 50 in Amritsar central constituency, Pehalwan was shot dead on Saturday right after he had finished exercising at Goal Bagh wrestling stadium.
The audacity of gangsters in taking to social media to throw open challenges to police, denying or taking responsibilities of crimes has also raised questions on capability of Punjab Police’s cyber cell.
Sangam Malhotra’s post have so far received 89 likes with many trigger happy youth eulogising their act of revenge by taking a human life.
He said the matter had been given to cyber cell to investigate.
