AMRITSAR: A little over one month after her marriage with Waris Punjab De (WPD) chief Amritpal Singh, currently on run, Kirandeep Kaur, 28, has also come under police radar and is being questioned not only about the whereabouts of her husband but also about his future plans to fan the Khalistan fire and her own past.

It is also reported that she came under police radar in the UK in 2020.
Notably on February 10th, Amritpal Singh tied the nuptial knot with UK-based NRI Kirandeep Kaur at his native village Jallupur Khera, near Amritsar.
Despite talking to media persons and allowing them to click their photographs during his marriage, he didn't let them click photograph the face of his wife.
He had then reasoned keeping the marriage function strictly a ‘private event and also advised the media not to sensationalize his marriage ceremony'.
He had however said that he and his wife would be staying in Punjab in an attempt to begin reverse migration trend.
Now the dust has started clearing why Amritpal didn’t let anyone click photograph of the face of his wife during his marriage ceremony.
“We think he feared that his wife could be recognized which could reveal her past or her links with terror organization,” said a senior police officer involved in the investigations of the case against Amritpal.
Since February 18th when Amritpal absconded, his father Tarsem Singh, and mother Balwinder Singh have been talking to media persons but not Kirandeep Kaur who didn’t come even once before the media despite being in the home at Jallupur Khera.
On March 22nd, two senior police officers including a female police officer went to the house of Amritpal to question his wife.
However, neither the police nor the parents of Amritpal revealed to the media about ‘questioning’ Kirandeep Kaur.
Senior superintendent of police, Amritsar, rural, Satinder Singh maintained that visit of senior police offers to the house of Amritpal was a ‘routine matter’.
