AMRITSAR: A homemaker in Amritsar's Star Avenue colony thwarted a burglary attempt at her home by courageously standing her ground and forcing the thieves to flee.
According to surveillance footage, the woman quickly closed her door to block the intruders, who had entered her property by scaling the boundary wall. She pushed a nearby sofa against the door as a barricade and instructed her children to stay safely in their room.
The incident unfolded after the woman, who had gone to the rooftop to collect some clothes, noticed three suspicious men on the street. Upon returning downstairs, she discovered that the men were attempting to break into her house. Acting swiftly, she managed to prevent them from gaining entry and raised the alarm.
Assistant sub inspector Sandeep Kumar praised the woman's bravery, highlighting that her quick thinking forced the burglars to abandon their plan. The woman's husband, Jagir Singh, is a goldsmith with a shop in Mustafabad.
