AMRITSAR: Amritsar police have made significant seizures in two separate cases, leading to the recovery of 13 pistols, 24 magazines, 3kg of heroin, Rs 9 lakh in cash, and two cars. The arrests of five individuals were made in connection with these cases.


In the first case, Amritpal Singh alias Kallu, a 28-year-old resident of Bhullar village in Tarn Taran, was apprehended in connection with an international arms smuggling racket. The police recovered 13 pistols of .32 bore, 24 magazines, 12 rounds, and a car. Amritpal Singh revealed during questioning that he purchased pistols from Madhya Pradesh for Rs 35,000 each and sold them for Rs 50,000 in Punjab. Efforts are underway to dismantle the entire network and identify the procurement and supply chain. A case under Section 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered.

In the second case, the police arrested Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky, Rashpal Singh, Gaurav alias Kali, and Sahil Kumar alias Manthan, all residents of Amritsar. The arrests led to the recovery of 3kg of heroin, Rs 9 lakh in drug money, and one car used for transporting the contraband.

Rashpal Singh, with prior criminal charges, faced allegations related to theft and the NDPS Act in Amritsar Rural and Tarn Taran. A case under sections 21-C, 27-A, and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at D Division police station.
