BATHINDA: Two men were killed by their family members in Mansa and Moga on Saturday. In Moga's Manuke village, 50-year-old bus conductor, Jagsir Singh, allegedly killed his 19-year-old son, who was allegedly a drug addict, often beating his parents for money to buy drugs.

At Uddat Sedewala village in Mansa, two sisters, Daljit Kaur and Sarabjit Kaur, have been booked for killing their brother Gurcharan Singh to usurp his property. Daljit and her husband Dharam Singh have been arrested. Sarabjit is at large.

Jagsir confessed to his crime and said he killed his son Manpreet Singh, who had been indulging in drugs for nearly three years. The body of the boy was recovered from a canal near Phulewala village in Baghapurana sub division of Moga.

Jagsir told the police that Manpreet was willing to do anything to get his hands on money to buy drugs. On one occasion, according to Jagsir, he had threatened to shoot Jagsir and his wife if they failed to give him money. The bus conductor is alleged to have attacked his son with an axe before dumping the body in the canal.

At Uddat Sedewala, Gurcharan Singh, 24, had died under mysterious circumstances. His father Jarnail Singh had told the police that his son was addicted to drugs and died when a portion of the boundary wall of his house fell on him when he was trying to scale the wall. The police, however, were not convinced. Investigations revealed that his sisters had killed him and the old father was trying to save his daughters.

Mansa SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana said that during investigations it was found that Gurcharan's sister Daljit, her husband Dharam and another sister Sarabjit wanted to usurp the property in the name of Gurcharan and allegedly killed him with sharp-edged weapons.
