AMRITSAR: Amritsar police have arrested two gangsters, Amanpreet Singh and Rohit Sharma, on Monday. According to Amritsar commissioner of police S S Srivastva, Amanpreet was wanted in municipal councillor Gurdeep Pehalwan’s murder case as well as for burglary in jewellery shops in Guru Bazaar.
Police also recovered two pistols, seven live rounds and a motorcycle from the possession of both gangsters.

On Sunday night, Varinder Kumar of the crime investigation agency (CIA) had laid a naka on the Tarn Taran road and signalled a motorcycle to stop. But the person riding the bike opened fire at the police party. The police fired back, injuring one person and the other surrendered.
Preliminary interrogation of the accused revealed that Amanpreet’s two more accomplices Deep Gill and Rakshit were arrested by Delhi police on November 1.
