He said that the total cases in the state is similar to the country’s average positive cases. Speaking to the media at the party office on Tuesday, Mahesh Reddy explained that 17656 positive cases were reported in the entire country with a population of 136 crore which is about 0.001 percent of the total population. Similarly, AP reported 722 positive cases for 5 crore population which is also around 0.001 percent of the total population. The rate is around 0.003 percent in Gujarat and 0.002 percent in

“There is nothing to find fault either with Gujarat or Madhya Pradesh governments. The number of cases will go up due to various factors. All the governments are working overtime to contain the spread of the disease,” said Mahesh Reddy.

He said that village and ward volunteers in the state are virtually putting their lives at stake to protect the state from Covid-19. They were relentlessly working to extend services in the red zone and containment areas by distributing ration and essential commodities. He criticized BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana for trying to politicize the

measures and blaming the volunteers who were selflessly working in the crisis hour. He dared Kanna Lakshminarayana to get ready to take oath in Kanipakam Vinayaka temple by making similar allegations against the Centre for procuring the rapid test kits at Rs.790 per kit. He ridiculed Kanna for attributing motives to the state government which procured the kits at lesser price than the Centre. “We are not finding fault with ICMR or Centre for fixing higher price as situation demanded them to go for such price. The prices have come down subsequently and AP saved huge monies thanks to the chief minister’s vision,” said Mahesh Reddy. He lashed out at TDP leader Sabbam Hari for commenting that they would have rattled the government had they got 70-80 seats. He said that Hari’s statement reflects Naidu’s plans on purchasing the legislators from rival camp.
