YSR Congress releases 9 names for Lok Sabha elections
VIJAYAWADA: The YSR Congress released its first list of nine candidates for the Lok Sabha polls on Saturday night. The party will release the full list for both LS and assembly polls at Pulivendula town in Kadapa district on Sunday.
The list was scheduled for release at the auspicious time of 10.26 am on Saturday, but was postponed due to the murder of senior party leader YS Vivekananda Reddy.
However, it went ahead with the first list of nine names on the advice of spiritual leader Swami Swaroopananda Saraswathi of Sarada Peetham.
The first list has the following names — YS Avinash Reddy (Kadapa), Gotteti Madhavi (Araku), N Suresh (Bapatla), Talari Rangaiah (Anantapur), P Mithun Reddy (Rajampet), Chinta Anuradha (Amalapuram), Gorantla Madhav (Hindupur), S Sanjiv Kumar (Kurnool) and N Redeppa (Chittor).
Party chief Jaganmohan Reddy took the decision after offering prayers to his late father YS Rajasekhar Reddy in Idupulapaya on Saturday morning. Later, he will leave for Nellimarla in Visakhapatnam to launch the party’s campaign.
Meanwhile, on his return to Hyderabad from Pulivendula after Vivekananda Reddy was laid to rest, Jagan was closeted with senior leaders in the midst of admitting leaders like Konatala Ramakrishna, Vanga Geetha, Adala Prabhakar Reddy and others. He told party leaders to be cautious.
“The ruling party is out to create violence and shift the blame on YSR Congress. The TDP chief is going all out to brand us as criminals and thus create terror among voters,” he reportedly told party leaders.
