TIRUPATI: TDP's Chittoor parliament constituency candidate and retired IRS officer Daggumalla Prasad Rao has vowed to strive for the completion of all pending irrigation works in the district within the next five years.
Speaking to reporters at Chittoor on Saturday, Daggumalla Prasad Rao listed out his priorities in addressing various issues concerning the people of Chittoor district.
"Chittoor district has tail-end assembly constituencies in the state which face perennial drinking and irrigation water challenges. Rejuvenating local water bodies besides grounding minor and major irrigation projects will be my top priority", the TDP candidate remarked.
Because of the extreme backwardness in several assembly constituencies such as Puthalapattu, GD Nellore etc, there is rampant unemployment as well. "Attracting investments and industries to the Chittoor parliament constituency will go a longway in addressing the issues of backwardness and unemployment", Daggumalla Prasad Rao observed.
This parliament constituency also lags behind in terms of education and healthcare. "Establishment of reputed educational institutions and world-class healthcare facilities is one of my top most priorities", the TDP nominee added.
Explaining that development took a complete backseat in the Chittoor parliament during the YSRCP regime, Daggumalla Prasad Rao exuded confidence that a comprehensive progress on all fronts will be possible after the TDP led NDA alliance comes to power in the state and at the centre soon.
