Sharmila targets ruling party legislators in her bus yatra at Chittoor district
TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh Congress committee chief YS Sharmila targeted ruling party legislators during her bus yatra at Chittoor district on Monday.
Addressing impressive roadshows at GD Nellore, Palamaner and Puthalapattu assembly constituencies, the APCC chief highlighted the corruption of deputy Chief minister K Narayana Swamy and Palamaner legislator Venkate Gowda.
"The Kautilya project was grounded here at Palamaner during my father Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy's tenure as the Chief minister of the state. But today, the project is being used by the local YSRCP legislator to smuggle away crores of rupees worth sand", Sharmila lamented.
She accused that because of the ruling party's apathy, Palamaner was staring at an acute water crisis this summer. Explaining about the numerous corruption "acts" of Venkate Gowda, the APCC chief cautioned the people to not fall into his trap once again and to vote with wisdom for the right candidate in the upcoming elections.
The APCC chief also criticized the YSRCP govt over its failure in fulfilling numerous promises extended to the people of the state in the run-up to the 2019 elections.
"There has been no mega DSC and job calendar was never implemented. They couldn't prohibit liquor as promised. They haven't brought special category status for AP and haven't been able to establish the imaginary three capitals also" Sharmila ridiculed and urged the people to pledge support for the Congress party in the upcoming elections.
