Sridhar Reddy made the allegations after he “noticed” the presence of two Intelligence constables at his media conference on Sunday. He called up senior police officials and confronted them for deploying “spies” around him. Sridhar Reddy is the second legislator from Nellore district to openly confront the state government.

He said the Intelligence department would not be able to track his call data if he switched over to WhatsApp call or some other apps that help maintain confidentiality. “I am shocked by the behaviour of the Intelligence wing officials who depute their men at my meetings despite knowing that I belong to ruling party. I do not belong to opposition party,” said Sridhar Reddy.

He said he has been in public life for the past three decades and knows very well how to handle the “tricks of the cops”. He said he has been using 12 SIM cards to avoid tracking by the police.

Sridhar Reddy alleged that senior leaders have ganged up to weaken him in his constituency as they are unable to digest his growth.
