Rajahmundry police inspector suspended for corruption in land dispute case

RAJAHMUNDRY: Eluru range IG Ashok Kumar issued orders suspending Rajahmundry Two Town Inspector V Durga Rao on Monday night. During his stint as C.I in Gudivada Two town police station in 2022, Durga Rao had received a complaint on a land dispute and he settled the issue for Rs 30 lakh between two parties.
During that time, he had inclined towards the party which had paid the amount and took some documents from the complainant forcefully and gave them to the opposite party. When the complainant asked the inspector to give back the documents, he demanded for money.
Vexed by the attitude of Durg Rao, the complainant approached the ACB. The IG said that the ACB has recommended for criminal case and suspension on Durga Rao as he was proved guilty in the inquiry.
