President Kovind inaugurates yogashala at Satsang foundation ashram in Madanapalle

TIRUPATI: President of India Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the yogashala of the Bharat yoga vidya kendra at the Satsang foundation ashram near Madanapalle in Chittoor district on Sunday.
Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan and a group of elected representatives from Chittoor district greeted the President on his arrival at Chippili near Madanapalle on Sunday.

Later the President reached the Satsang foundation ashram and inaugurated the yogashala of the Bharat yoga vidya kendra and interacted with the students of the first yoga teacher training programme at the ashram.
During his brief interaction with the students, Ramnath Kovind remarked that Kriya yoga was a comprehensive and holistic discipline for the elevation of the mind as well as the physical body. "Yoga will always be of great help in meeting the daily challenges of life in all spheres and to explore deeper aspects of consciousness. It is impressive that students from across the country have come here to this ashram at Madanapalle for the course", he remarked.
After planting a peepal tree, Ramnath Kovind unveiled the foundation stone of Swaasthya hospitals, a 38-bed hospital aimed at providing affordable and quality healthcare to the semi-urban and rural population of Madanapalle.
Later the President interacted with the students and teachers of the Satsang Vidyalaya - a free school which has been providing holistic development, high quality education and healthcare services to the children of marginalized communities at Madanapalle since 1991.

Ramnath Kovind who later visited the Peepal grove school at Sadum in Chittoor district briefly interacted with the students and teachers there before winding up his one day tour of Chittoor district and returning back to the national capital at New Delhi on Sunday evening.
Officials from the state government of Andhra Pradesh and the Chittoor district administration made elaborate security arrangements for the one-day visit of President of India to Chittoor district on Sunday.
