AMARAVATI

: Nearly eight months after the demolition of Praja Vedika, the CRDA has decided to

auction

the furniture left at the spot. CRDA will accept applications from bidders to pick-up the furniture from

Praja Vedika

till March 3. Auction will be held on March 4.

The conference hall was constructed with nearly Rs 9 crore during the TDP regime. The Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSRC government razed it in June last year as it was an

structure. Although,a few social activists had approached the high court seeking a stay on the demolition, as it involved a large amount of public money, the high court had declined as the petitioner himself had stated that the structure was illegal.

The CRDA, which bulldozed the structure, has left many valuable utilities including air-conditioners, chairs and tables at the spot.

Following the decision to auction the Praja Vedika furniture, former minister and TDP senior leader Nakka Anand Babu said, “The government should have auctioned the remaing furniture immediately after the demolition.
