The accused arrested by the police were identified as Lakshmi Shetty Sai Teja (22), V Venkatesh (29), A Sujan Krishna (24), K Vamsi Krishna (23), T Pawan Kumar (25), and M Narayana (26).

According to Nellore city DSP D Srinivasa Reddy, the deceased Gunji Ravi and all six accused were identified as habitual offenders with extensive criminal records.

The incident stemmed from a heated argument between Ravi and one of the accused, Sujan, on the night of August 25. Another accused, Sai Teja, was also involved in a prior dispute with the victim over alleged offensive comments about Teja's wife.

“Fearing retaliation from Ravi, the group of friends plotted to kill Ravi. In the early hours of August 26, the accused gang ambushed the victim near local eatery at Ramalingapuram underbridge, fatally stabbed him and fled away from the spot”, DSP added

The police team, led by Balaji Nagar CI K Sambasiva Rao, tracked down the suspects and arrested them near Golagamudi cross road. Four knives and two motorcycles were seized as evidence. DSP Srinivasa Reddy commended the police team for their quick and effective resolution of the case.
