Andhra Pradesh: Land committee pats TTD for initiating stringent measures for protection of temple lands

TIRUPATI: Retired judge Justice K Sridhar Rao, who is the chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams appointed land committee, complimented the temple body for initiating stringent measures aimed at protecting lands donated to the temple trust by the devotees of Lord Venkateswara across the country.

Justice Sridhar Rao said that the TTD management successfully recovered properties worth Rs.23 crore spread over 20.45 acres of land since January this year.

He added that the temple body was contemplating digitalization of its land properties for better administrative ease and transparency with the help of modern technology like Geo-mapping and Geo-fencing etc.

The committee appreciated the efforts of the estates wing in streamlining the Kalyana mandapams leasing activities which brought revenues to the tune of Rs.6 crore to the TTD in the recent times.

Land committee members who took part in the meeting include TTD's Hyderabad local advisory committee Chairman GV Bhaskar, Dr VR Gauri Shankar, Mumbai LAC chairman Amol Kale, Bangalore LAC chairman Sampath Ravi Narayanan, New Delhi LAC chairman V Prashanti Reddy, Bhubaneswar LAC chairman Dushyant Kumar Das and others.

During the course of the meeting, the committee also discussed the development of TTD properties at Janakpuri, Rishikesh and Dehradun for the benefit of the devotees.
