Family protests with dead body in front of police station in Chittoor district

TIRUPATI: The family members of a 56-year-old man who committed suicide by consuming pesticides, staged protests at the Vedurukuppam police station in Chittoor district along with the deceased's dead body on Thursday.

Family members alleged that Chandrasekhar, a resident of Marrimakula Kandriga, was summoned to the Vedurukuppam police station in connection with a civil dispute and was allegedly assaulted by the police personnel on duty at the station.

Chandrasekhar who came back home in a dejected state from the police station, consumed pesticides and committed suicide.

Family members and relatives who were infuriated with his death, staged protests at the police station and demanded sternest action against those responsible for his suicide.
