TIRUPATI: Within hours after he was taken into custody by the police in connection with the SSC examinations question papers malpractice case on Tuesday, former Telugu Desam Party minister P Narayana was granted bail by a local court at Chittoor on Wednesday.

Lawyers representing the former minister pointed out to the magistrate that P Narayana had stepped down from the administrative functions of the Narayana group of educational institutions and he was in no way connected to the colleges now, but was intentionally framed in the case by the police.

and Ramakrishna, granted him bail on a personal surety supported by two sureties.

Earlier, the former minister was taken to the government general hospital at Chittoor for medical examination and was later produced before the magistrate on Wednesday, who granted him bail in the SSC examinations question paper malpractice case.
