(CCAP).


Minister said that she had to change her perception on the cloth varieties available with apco after visiting the stall. Home minister inaugurated the state level exhibition on Saturday. Apco managing director Chadalavada Nagarani welcomed the home minister and explained about the new initiates of the corporation.

Addressing the media, minister Sucharitha said that apco would soon become big brand name for handlooms and trendy clothes across the globe. She said that apco’s growth in the market would help several thousands of handloom weavers in the state. “Thousands of people are hooked to the tradition of weaving for their livelihood. Apco managing director Nagarani said that they have enlightened the weavers of the need to produce the innovative varieties to survive in the market. She said that AP’s weavers were producing amazing styles. She said that they were taking their hard work to the next level to make their footprint in the market.

She said that CCAP has been providing the world with the window to showcase Andhra Pradesh’s rich crafts and weaves in contemporary and traditional ways. “Vasantham, formerly known as Aakrithi Vastra, is a platform for today’s generation to witness and showcase weaves and crafts not only from AP but all over India.

has brought amazing traditional arts and crafts with modern ideas to the exhibition,” said Nagarani. While sustainability and tradition were the key important features, Vasantham has covered all right from healthy sustainable living to eating.

The modern weaves of Assam to the traditional Gadwal sarees, weaving from Manipur to stone crafts from Palnadu in Guntur district the 2-day exhibition was a delight to all. The range of products was vast and unique. Chikankari tunics, chanderi stoles, ahimsa silk are just a few names in this wonderful exhibition. National awardee Vanjare Ramesha from Karnataka attended the exhibition while CCAP felicitated six times national awardee Ramaniah and his wife from Nellore for their stupendous work in the field of weaving.
