TIRUPATI: Two forest department staffers were suspended in Kurnool district on Thursday as investigation began into the death of a 3-year-old tigress whose carcass was found near the Gandleru reservoir under the Nandyal division Nagarjuna Sagar Tiger reserve on Wednesday.
Conservator of forests P Rama Krishna told reporters that two staffers including Peddakambaluru forest section officer Srinivas Reddy and forest beat officer James Paul were suspended on grounds of negligence towards their duties.
He added that the carcass of the 3-year-old tigress was sent for postmortem and further investigation will reveal the actual reasons behind her death.
