Police
on Monday arrested four smugglers in two separate incidents and seized 27 red sanders logs weighing 725kg on in
Kadapa
district of
Andhra Pradesh.
Kadapa superintendent of police KKN Anburajan said three red sanders smugglers - T Ravikumar Reddy, D Srinivasulum and C Murali - were arrested near Narvakatipalli village in Vontimitta mandal in the early hours. Police seized seven red sanders logs from their possession.
In another incident, the railway police arrested G
Sankar
near the Upparapalli village and seized 20 red sanders logs from his possession.
G Sankar is a notorious smuggler who is an accused in 31 smuggling cases.
He was also booked under the
preventive detention act
by the police but continued with smuggling activities before he once again landed in the police net on Monday.
