TIRUPATI: Chief minister
YS Jaganmohan Reddy has promised to provide constructed houses in 5 cents of land along with employment opportunities to the flood affected victims who have lost their shelter and livelihoods following the widespread devastation caused by the incessant rains and flash floods in Kadapa district.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy who arrived at Kadapa on Thursday on the sidelines of his 2-day tour of flood affected areas in Kadapa, Chittoor and
Nellore
districts, first visited Pulapathuru, Mandapalli and Eguva Mandapalli villages in Rajampet mandal which were severely ravaged by the recent floods.
The chief minister consoled the Korrapati family members at Eguva Mandapalli who lost 9 members of their family in the recent floods. YS Jagan also consoled Mannuru Eswaraiah's family in which two flood deaths were reported.
Later, when CM YS Jagan enquired with the flood victims if the relief measures taken up by the state government reached them on time or delayed, a majority of the victims expressed satisfaction over the relief measures taken up by the government in the aftermath of the floods.
The Chief minister promised to provide a constructed house in five cents of land for all those victims whose homes were washed away in the recent floods. "Rehabilitation works are underway in full swing. The state government will leave no stone unturned in bringing back normalcy to the flood affected villages. Job melas will be conducted to provide both government and private employment opportunities to the youngsters in these villages. Financial assistance of Rs.12000 will be provided to help the farmers clear sand from their agricultural fields. One year moratorium will be provided to all the SHGs in the flood affected villages", promised YS Jagan.
After interacting with the flood victims at various relief camps, the Chief minister directed the officials of the district administration and the irrigation department to come up with redesigns of the Annamayya project in such a manner that such kind of devastation does not repeat in the future.
Meanwhile, Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy who arrived in Chittoor district after concluding his Kadapa tour, visited the flood affected areas in Srikalahasti assembly segment on Thursday.
YS Jagan interacted with the flood victims of Srikalahasti assembly constituency and inspected the infrastructure damage caused by the recent floods.
Later YS Jaganmohan Reddy reviewed the impact of floods on Chittoor district with the officials of the district administration at Sri Padmavathi guest house. The Chief minister who will halt for the night in the temple city will visit
Krishna Nagar, Auto Nagar and Tiruchanoor areas on Friday.
