AMARAVATI: The
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) official spokesperson and actress Divyavani on Tuesday announced her resignation, blaming the party leadership for not recognising her services.
Speaking to the media, Divyavani blamed certain forces in the party for her decision to quit the party.
She abstained from attending Mahanadu held in Ongole two days ago.
“A few forces are relentlessly worked against me in the party.
I thought it is better to quit the party which did not recognize my services,” said Divyavani.
She said that she was sidelined by the party leadership at the behest of some vested interests.
She, however, did not divulge the names of the leaders who worked against her. She said that she was annoyed at the TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu for ignoring her hard work since she joined the party.
"Actor-turned-politicians like Murali Mohan could survive in the party as they are wealthy. TDP founded by actor NTR is not a place to work for any other artists like me,” said Divyavani.
The veteran actress joined the TDP about three years ago and seen has been taking on the YSRCP government on many issues.
She thanked the party workers who extended their support in the last three years.
