4 killed in ghat road crash in Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district

TIRUPATI: Four people died in a road accident on the Guvvala Cheruvu ghat road in Kadapa district on Saturday, police said.

The incident occurred when a speeding truck rammed into a car from behind. The force of the collision caused the car to fall into a nearby pit. Moments later, the truck driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle, which also fell into the pit and landed on the car.

Police said the impact was so severe that the car was completely crushed, killing all four occupants on the spot.

Local authorities rushed to the scene after receiving information about the accident, but rescue efforts came too late. A crane was deployed to retrieve both vehicles from the pit.

Traffic movement on the Guvvala Cheruvu ghat road was temporarily halted due to the crash.

An investigation is underway.
