World Photography Day celebrated

World Photography Day was celebrated on Thursday under the aegis of AN Mukherji Welfare Society which organised an exhibition at Civil Lines Crossing.

ALLAHABAD: World Photography Day was celebrated on Thursday under the aegis of AN Mukherji Welfare Society which organised an exhibition at Civil Lines Crossing. Works of budding photographers of the city were appreciated in the exhibition.Inaugurating the exhibition, vice-chancellor, RajarshiTandon Open University(UPRTOU) Prof Nageshwar Rao said: "Photographs displayedin the exhibition convey different stories. It is an effort to bring the peoplecloser towards truth. Incidents like the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation and therecent attack on state cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi in the city havebeen aptly depicted in the photographs of local cameramen. Convener,Rajiv Bose said that around 150 photographs including black and white as well ascolour prints were displayed in the exhibition.
