Prayagraj: Police on Wednesday reportedly claimed to have received some vital information regarding the killing of lawyer Umesh Pal and his two police gunners from slain gangster Atiq Ahmed’s lawyer Khan Saulat Hanif after taking him into 12-hour police custody remand. Though senior police authorities were tight lipped over the findings, sources said mobiles, documents and a weapon were recovered from the house Khan Saulat.
The chief judicial magistrate (CJM) of Prayagraj had on Tuesday granted 12-hour remand of Khan Saulat to police. After the remand period from 6am to 6pm on May 3, 2023 (Wednesday) ended, Khan Saulat was sent back to Naini central jail.
