ALLAHABAD: Mortal remains of warrant officer Virendra Kumar Mishra, of 118 Helicopter Unit of Indian Air Force were consigned to flames at Dashashwamedh ghat of Daraganj on Wednesday. Mishra's body was cremated with full honours at the ghat.
A native of Pratapgarh, Mishra participated in the Kargil war and received appreciation for services rendered.

His unit was posted at Guwahati in Assam when Mishra complained of chest pain and was admitted to the hospital where he suffered a major heart attack and died. His family members, friends and relatives gathered at the ghat to pay homage to the departed soul. Mishra's father Sheetla Prasad Mishra, a private doctor was also present at the ghat.
