UPSRTC to ply buses on nine new routes before Maha Kumbh

Prayagraj: As part of Maha Kumbh preparations the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation (UPSRTC) has decided to enhance the number of routes on, which its buses would operate. The buses would be introduced on nine new routes, which would be in addition to the eight routes on, which the buses are presently operating.This is being done to improve connectivity between rural areas of the Prayagraj district and the main city. Not only during Maha Kumbh, but operating buses on the additional routes will benefit commuters of the rural areas who visit the Sangam city for a number of reasons, including education, employment, and health care.The nine routes have been identified by the corporation after a survey done in terms of potential passengers, and routes with higher passenger numbers. Previously, the UPSRTC had identified 17 new routes to facilitate easier travel for people.According to the regional manager of UPSRTC, Prayagraj, MK Trivedi, “Buses are already operating on eight of these routes in the district and the plan now is to extend the roadways bus services to the remaining nine routes as well.” With the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025, a large number of people from rural areas will travel to Prayagraj city, and in anticipation of this, regular bus services will soon be operational on these nine routes, he added. The eight routes currently in operation include Prayagraj-Pratapgarh-Pariyanwa, Prayagraj, Lalganj-Kithayar, Prayagraj-Chilla-Pahua-Lalapur-Shankargarh, Janghai via Phulpur, Ugrasenpur, Prayagraj-Badshahpur-Motiha-Jagatpur, Prayagraj-Manjhanpur, Maduki, Deora and Dhata, Prayagraj-Manjhanpur-Bharwari-Karari-Pashchim Sharira, and Prayagraj-Pipri via Handia.The nine new routes include Prayagraj-Mirzapur, Belahi via Kalvari, Prayagraj-Mirzapur-Halia, Matwar, Kusiyara, Prayagraj-Nevada, Hathigaha and Holagarh, Prayagraj-Bendow, Sirsa, Monai, Dighiya, Prayagraj-Shringverpur, Bhagautipur, Prayagraj-Mauaima, Kalandarpur, Prayagraj-Pratapgarh, Saray, Bhupatipur, Parvatpur, Sarai Anadev, Prayagraj-Meja-Manda, and Prayagraj-Kaundhiyara, Karma, Chheoki.

As rain abates in Kolhapur, routes to Konkan reopen

Traffic resumed on Kolhapur-Gaganbawda and Kolhapur-Radhanagari highways after rainfall intensity dropped, offering relief to commuters. However, the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri highway remained flooded. Salt Lake Bus Yatra to bring back lost routes in Kolkata

A Bus Yatra from Kasba to Salt Lake was organized by bus enthusiasts to rally for the reintroduction of discontinued bus routes. Senior transport officials and private bus owners participated in the event, which included a tree plantation drive. Mosques and mazars on kanwar route in Haridwar 'covered up'
