PRAYAGRAJ: Rich tribute were paid to the mortal remains of the brave solider Deepak Singh, who laid down his life along with 19 other brave hearts at Galvan in Ladakh while fighting the Chinese army on June 15, at Military Hospital, New Cantt of the city on Friday morning.

Earlier, the mortal remains of the brave soldier arrived at Bamrauli airbase of Indian Air Force (IAF) on Thursday night by an AN32 service aircraft.

The remains have been brought to Prayagraj’s IAF airbase en route to his native village Faranda, post office Manikear, about 100 kilometers from Rewa in MP. The last rights would be performed in the village on Friday.

Before leaving for Rewa on a well decorated vehicle of the Indian army, the mortal remains of Singh was placed at MH Prayagraj. The wreath laying ceremony was carried out by Maj Gen IM Lamba, GOC Sub Area , GOC 4 Inf Rapid Division, on behalf of GOC-in-C central command lucknow, Brig Sundeep Bhandari MH Commandant, Dy GoC Brig RP Singh , Commandant OD Fort Col Dabas and staff of Sub Area.

Born on July 15, 1989, Singh was a nursing assistant in

Army Medical Corps

(AMC) and was just One month shy of turning 31 himself when he died while fighting the Chinese aggression on June 15. He was married just Eight months ago with Minu Kumari.
