Two injured over car parking dispute in Pratapgarh, three held

Prayagraj: The Pratapgarh police on Wednesday arrested three miscreants for allegedly shooting and injuring two persons over a car parking dispute at Benipur village late Tuesday night.Those arrested were Anil Kumar Tiwari, his son Abhinav Kumar Tiwari, and Govind Pandey-- residents of Benipur and Faneha village respectively. Police said the incident took place at around 10.45pm when victim Shailendra Pandey was returning home towards Kotwali from Benipur. He spotted two SUVs belonging to Govind parked in the middle of the road and disrupting traffic movement.Shailendra then asked Anil Tiwari and others to park the vehicles elsewhere. However, the issue soon escalated into heated argument and supporters of both sides clashed and engaged in stone pelting. Three vehicles were damaged in the melee.Soon, Anil Tiwari and others allegedly opened fire and left Prateek Pandey and Shailendra Pandey injured. Upon being alerted, a team of Kotwali police rushed to the spot and admitted the to the district hospital.
