The arrested persons were identified as Dheeraj Kumar Hela and Raju alias Pawan Verma, residents of Cooper road and Balaipur in Civil Lines. Knives used in killing the doctor's wife were also recovered.
DIG Ram Kumar said that the arrested persons had looted cash and jewellery from the house of a doctor after killing his wife Kamal Chaddha (59) on March 28.
Dheeraj was working at Dr SK Chaddha's house and IMA Blood Bank for the last one-and-a-half year.
About two and a half months back, Dheeraj and his accomplice Raju had hatched the conspiracy to commit a loot at the doctor's house as the two knew that they would be getting sufficient jewellery and cash.
Dheeraj had earlier planned to hire his criminals friends from neighbouring Pratapgarh district but later dropped the idea thinking that these professional criminals could harm him once the loot was executed.

Dheeraj then told about the entire plan to Raju, his childhood friend and planned to commit the crime in the evening on March 28 when the doctor's wife would be alone at the house.
Under the conspriacy, Dheeraj and Raju waited for Dr SK Chaddha to arrive at the blood bank.
When Dr Chaddha arrived at blood bank at around 7 pm, Dheeraj then asked Raju to visit the doctor's house to gather information about the members present at his house. Raju visited the doctor's house.
He returned and told Dheeraj that there was one car parked at the house and his wife Kamal Chaddha was alone.
The two reached the doctor's house. When Kamal came at the door, Dheeraj said that he would not be coming on duty for the next few days and he had deputed his friend Raju to complete the work.
Dheeraj also asked Kamal to note down Raju's mobile number so that it would be convenient to call him whenever she required.
As soon as Kamal turned back to get a paper and pen to note the down the number, the two attacked the woman with knives and killed her.
The two then looted jewellery and cash and escaped.
The DIG annouced Rs 15,000 as cash reward for police team to solve the case.
