ALLAHABAD: Irked over the lack of police action in the death of a BTech student after he was attacked in Mahuari, scores of students of a private engineering college blocked traffic on Allahabad-Mirzapur highway, on Monday, for more than two hours demanding arrest of the accused.
Shivam Shukla, a second year BTech student, succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Lucknow after he was brutally attacked by assailants near Mahuari village on Friday.
Shukla's friend was also injured in the attack.
The protesting students pelted stones at vehicles and buildings, accusing police for not taking action.
SSP (Allahabad) Aakash Kulhary said that police have got vital clues regarding the incident.
"The assailants had a dispute with the two victims and police teams are working on different angles to nab them," Kulhary added.
