‘Polling parties to reach only in their designated vehicles’

Prayagraj: Senior police and administrative officials, including police commissioner Tarun Gauba and district election officer/district magistrate Ravindra Kumar on Monday briefed the police and administrative officers assigned and deployed for polling and counting duty for the Phulpur by-election at reserve police lines. They issued necessary guidelines related to the election to ensure that the voting process on Nov 20 is conducted in a safe, fair, and transparent manner. The police commissioner, said, "If any rumour or false news is uploaded on social media, its immediate verification should be ensured and should be refuted." He instructed social media team to keep a check and said that mobile phones should not be allowed inside under any circumstances. In case of any negligence, action will be taken, he added. He said that polling parties should reach their duty place only in their designated vehicles, and not in a personal vehicle.
