Social activist from Azamgarh, Ehsan Khan who was in the city to attend Union steel minister's meeting has demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge of Supreme Court into the death of Khalid Mujahid in police custody.

ALLAHABAD: Social activist from Azamgarh, Ehsan Khan who was in the city to attend Union steel minister's meeting has demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge of Supreme Court into the death of Khalid Mujahid in police custody.
The report should be made public to unravel the role of politicians in the murder, said Mujahid.
He said that strong action should be taken against persons responsible for Mujahid's death and the state chief minister should declare him as innocent.

He demanded compensation of Rs crore for victim's family. He asked the state government to file affidavits in court to withdraw cases filed against others, including Tariq Qasimi, languishing in jail on similar charges.
Khan also flayed the state government for disrupting seminar on Mujahid at a local college.
