The Department of Political Science and Institute of Gandhian Thought and Peace Studies of Allahabad University would organise a national seminar titled 'human rights of women and movements: Issues and debates' with special focus on the Indian scenario today.

ALLAHABAD: The Department of Political Science and Institute of Gandhian Thought and Peace Studies of Allahabad University would organise a national seminar titled 'human rights of women and movements: Issues and debates' with special focus on the Indian scenario today.
The seminar, which would be held at the conference hall of AU guest house, would be presided over by the AU vice-chancellor Prof A K Singh while the chief guest on the occasion would be Justice Rakesh Tiwari of Allahabad High Court.

Later in the day, there will be a book release function organised by the Rajiv Gandhi Chair in contemporary studies of AU. The book, titled changing dimension of social justice in the new global era'will be released by Justice Rakesh Tiwari along with the V-C.
The valedictory function of the seminar would be held on March 17. Prof Chandrakala Padia, Dean, School of Social Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, will deliver the valedictory address. Abhilasha Gupta, the mayor of the city will be the guest of honour and Prof BM Sharma, former V-C, Kota University and former chairman, Rajasthan Public Service Commission, will preside over the valedictory session.
