PRAYAGRAJ: In line with the theme of ‘Har Ghar-Aangan Yoga’, the citizens of sangam city are gearing to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 in a different way.
While a group of 60 people from the age group of 8 years to 60 years will be performing four different asans on river Yamuna on June 21, another group of 100 people including families, would be displaying different aasan and yoga at Victoria park inside CSA park on the day. Interestingly, both government departments and non -government organisations have chalked out plans to organise yoga camps and various programmes across the district, with special focus on conducting yoga camps in every nook and corner to observe International Yoga Day.
However, city is already witnessing Yoga Week from June 15 to 21.
In city, mass yoga sessions will be held in city, towns, and villages to encourage maximum public participation in practicing yoga. Furthermore, efforts are also being made to display the Yoga protocol in public areas. Yoga sessions will also be organised in Anganwadi centres, community areas, and various government departments.
Officials have emphasised the importance of spreading the message to the masses.
This year, a group of 60 swimmers, including men and women of all age groups, will be performing various asana and yoga, including Tadasana, Garunasana, Uttanpadasana, Padmasana, Savasana etc on the waves of Yamuna river on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
The asanas and yoga practices will be performed under the supervision of swimming experts Tribhuwan Nishad and Kamla Nishad. Interestingly, children performing special asanas on the waves of river Yamuna , will also write ‘yoga’ through their postures.
